The majority of my work (but not limited to) I have shot on Sony cameras. Most recently the F5/FS7/F800 have been my go-to cameras for Broadcast work but also sometimes the F55/FS5. I am also experienced in operating Panasonic, RED and Arri cameras. For nostalgia purposes I previously owned a Sony DSR570, Beta SX and Digi Beta.

The Long Room Library at Trinity College Dublin.
Mercedes Vito Sport crew van. Sits five people, double sliding doors for filming and custom built rear kit shelving.
ATA Carnet Holder for all my equipment.
After working as a freelance cameraman for more than 10 years in the UAE, Cambodia, Spain and finally the UK, I set up The Broader Picture Limited in 2016. If there's surface area, get a sticker on it! On the rare occasion that things get left behind, people know who to call.
US iVisa holder until 2022
I'm used to enduring all types of extreme filming conditions all around the world. Shooting here in Helsinki in December, -23deg.
This photo was taken during the filming of a documentary about the construction of the Kuwait Opera House which I went back to film after returning to the UK. Fond memories from my seven years living and working all over the Middle East.
I wouldn't say I've perfected the art of travelling with huge amounts of camera gear, but its definitely a work in progress. The single person/double trolley technique never ceases to impress. The secret to its success is Peli positioning and a single cable tie...
Not what I originally planned to use my Sachtler Video 18 when I bought it almost 15 years ago but its always the right tool for the job...sometimes in unexpected ways.
LEDs changed the way we light on set. I have an extensive range of lighting for different requirements on hand in the back the van.
Random shot taken in an airport, possibly Schipol.
Photo taken on location where I was shooting a BTS film with fashion photographers Mert & Marcus and styled by Kate Moss. Noting the small details you take as standard on set, but obviously never see in the finished shot. Rubber matting, tennis balls and shoe nets can only mean one thing...there's some very expensive floor under there!
I'm very lucky to know and work with a wide range of talented crew. From Sound to Lighting to Grip. Not all of them are as hairy as this little fellow, or enjoy watching themselves so much on the monitor.
After working in a number of different vet practices recently, no animal weighing scales were so dramatic in highlighting and confirming the weight of a fairly loaded F800...10.8kgs.
Food is both a professional and personal passion of mine. This incredible (edible) plate was part of a recent travel doc I shot in the only new restaurant to be awarded a Michelin Star in Ireland in 2017, Heron and Grey. Well done boys!
Rare reflective selfie action.
A lot of time when travelling is spent in the oversize baggage area waiting for the infamous tripod tubes to turn up. Here, in Poznan Poland on the other side of a locked door. All my kit flies in Peli cases, with laser cut foam for protection.
A large part of filming is knowing when and where to be at the right time. Sometimes its planning, other times its luck. Waiting for the gavel to strike at Christies is one of these moments
A recent shoot involved driving a Tesla from London to the manufacturing plant in Tilburg, Holland on only one charge with two presenters. This meant being economical not only on the driving but also on the stop/start nature of shooting. Solution? Lots of in/out car mounted cameras and pickups on the main camera. An incredible if not exhausting 48 hour experience. This shot shows the car in the "light tunnel" at the end of the factory line.
